Chief’s Message — 2026 Update
Dear Upper Gwynedd Township Community Members,
As Fire Chief, I am honored to lead the dedicated all-volunteer professionals of the Upper Gwynedd Township Fire Department. As we move through 2026, our mission remains clear: to protect life and property while building a safer, stronger, and more resilient community together.
Whether we are responding from our West Point headquarters on Garfield Avenue or engaging with neighbors at local events, our commitment to you is rooted in six core values:
-
Safety: Prevention and readiness are our highest priorities. Through expanded outreach at our Fire & Life Safety Center, ongoing public education, and rigorous operational training, we work tirelessly to eliminate hazards before emergencies occur.
-
Integrity: We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standard. We approach every decision, action, and expenditure with total transparency, honesty, and accountability to maintain the community’s trust.
-
Inclusion: Upper Gwynedd is a vibrant and diverse township. We strive to foster an environment where every resident and department member feels valued, respected, and supported.
-
Professionalism: As emergency response evolves, so do we. Through modern technology, continuous dynamic training, and proactive maintenance of our apparatus—from Engine 80 to Special Service 80—our team delivers compassionate, expert emergency care whenever you call.
-
Community: We are proud to be your neighbors, friends, and family. Beyond fire prevention and emergency response, we look forward to connecting with you throughout the year at community meetings, school visits, and local gatherings.
-
Family: Our department relies on the strength of two families—the loved ones who support our volunteer firefighters at home, and the tight-knit brotherhood and sisterhood within our station. That foundation drives our dedication every single day.
As an all-volunteer organization, our strength truly lies in our community. Whether you join our operational team, support our annual initiatives, or simply practice fire safety at home, your partnership makes a vital difference.
Thank you for your ongoing support, trust, and dedication to keeping Upper Gwynedd safe.
Stay safe,
